God's Blessings

It amazes me how God works in our lives and answers our prayers without us even realizing it most of the time. Daniel and I spent about 4 weeks in Fort Worth without really having any friends or having anything to do most of the time. We worked on the house, spent some much needed time with each other, explored the city, and loved on Jackson for those 4 weeks. We prayed for friends and church home so we could have a "family" since ours are so far away right now. While I was in orientation for Baylor (the hospital I'm working for), Daniel started his orientation at SWBTS. He met some pretty amazing guys during his orientation and later that day he sent me a text message that we had our first dinner date with another couple! Daniel came home telling me not to worry, that I would love this guy and his wife. They were newly married as well and had a dog around Jackson's age. Well sure enough, I love them both, as well as their golden retriever Abby. We met 2 other couples through these two new friends and we are called to pursue work in the mission field. It's so wonderful to be around other couples who have the same call on their live, the same passions, and are all working toward the same goals. The next great thing is that we've all ended up at the same church. We now have a loving church family to help support us while we are far away from our family and friends. We are learning and growing with each other. We were all praying for each other and didn't even realize it. :) I just love how God works and blesses us.

In and Around our House

For those of you who don't have facebook, here is a glimpse into our new home. :) We really like it here. So does Jackson. Just follow the link to the photo album. Enjoy!

Enjoying Life

Daniel and I have been enjoying life in Fort Worth. The house is finally finished and all decorated. Daniel is enjoying his classes and spending quite a bit of time studying. I've started my job on the floor and I love it! It's very similar to my old nursing job as far as the type of patients I take care of, so I'm just having to learn their system and documentation. Daniel's mom and brother came a few weekends ago for a visit. Daniel and I have made friends! Yay! Most of them are other young married couples in seminary so it's nice to have people around who are going through the same situation as we are. We've also found a church that we are going to join. It's a church plant started by a seminary student who is now working on his doctorate. It's located at a local high school on the south side of town. The past 2 Sundays there have only been about 40 people who come, but it's growing. We really love the people and look forward to being able to serve with them. God has been working on our hearts to just love others and be thankful and grateful for our situations in life. He is the ultimate provider. We are so thankful to have found others who we can fellowship with and grow with during this time in our lives. Most all the couples we have met are following the same path we are and are called to missions overseas.

We love you all and miss you. Let us know how we can be praying for you!
